■Background
With the implementation of the Workplace Workplace Reform Act and other measures accelerating efforts to improve productivity in the construction industry, JFE Engineering has been one of the first in the industry to promote on-site reform through DX that utilizes ICT and advanced technologies. In this context, the BIM/CIM (*1) linked crane simulator provided by Arayahas been introduced to JFE Engineering for planning studies at its bridge sites.
■About this simulator provided by Araya
Arayais aiming to create a digital twin (*2) of construction sites utilizing AI and IoT. As part of this effort, this simulator enables 3D dynamic simulation of cranes on the Unity simulator using BIM/CIM data and other data as input. This is expected to improve productivity by streamlining the review process at the planning stage and facilitating the coordination of perceptions among the parties involved.

This simulator can easily check the path of suspended loads and check for collisions as part of the crane layout study using design information, and it can also reflect point cloud data acquired separately on site in this simulator, contributing to checks and studies that respond to daily changing site conditions.
JFE ENGINEERING COMMENTS:
THE CRANE PART INFORMATION CAN BE ASSIGNED TO ANY 3D MODEL, SUCH AS SLEWING BODY, BOOM, HOOK, ETC., GREATLY INCREASING THE NUMBER OF CRANE TYPES THAT CAN BE USED AS 3D DYNAMIC MODELS. IN ADDITION, THE ABILITY TO PARAMETRICALLY MANAGE THE CRANE MOVEMENTS OF BRIDGE GIRDERS FROM GROUND CLEARANCE TO ERECTION MAKES IT EASY TO EDIT THE CRANE MOVEMENTS AS THEY CHANGE FROM TIME TO TIME."
