(hereinafter referred to as "ARAYA") will participate in and provide technical support for a demonstration experiment in the field of disaster prevention using local 5G (hereinafter referred to as the "Demonstration Experiment") to be conducted in Tochigi City from January 2021 by Regional Wireless Japan Inc. and Cable Television Co.
The Demonstration Experiment was selected on September 18, 2020 as a project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications under the "Contract for research and study on the technical conditions of local 5G, etc. in the field of disaster prevention for the development and demonstration toward the realization of local 5G, etc. for solving regional issues (advancement of disaster prevention operations and realization of rapid evacuation actions by residents).

ARAYA WILL BE IN CHARGE OF BUILDING AN AI MODEL TO ESTIMATE THE WATER LEVEL OF RIVERS FROM RIVER MONITORING CAMERA IMAGES USING 4K CAMERAS. THIS WILL SUPPORT THE MONITORING OF RIVER FLOODING AND INUNDATION DAMAGE, AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE PROMPT AND ACCURATE ISSUANCE OF EVACUATION INFORMATION BY LOCAL GOVERNMENTS.
Specifically, we estimate the area of the river in the image by predicting which pixels in the image are classified as rivers. In addition, by adding models based on information that correlates with water levels, such as distance estimation models, we can predict water levels in a generalized and highly accurate manner.
