Speaker Announcement: ”Creativity and Consciousness: Neural Basis Similarity and AI Implementation” 9/9 (FRI.)

Shuntaro Sasai, Ph.D., was invited for a Seminar.

Lecture Title.
Creativity and Consciousness: Neural Basis Similarity and AI Implementation

Summary:.
What cognitive and neural mechanisms exist behind our creativity? How do our conscious and subconscious processes contribute to the generation of creative ideas? To address these questions, we will begin with an overview of the neural mechanisms that contribute to human creativity and discuss the close relationship between creativity and the neural mechanisms that generate consciousness, both in practice and from a theoretical perspective. Furthermore, we will show that artificial intelligence that mimics part of the mechanism of consciousness generation can achieve cognitive functions that are important for creativity. Based on these findings, we will reconsider the relationship between creativity and consciousness and discuss creative artificial intelligence's implementation and potential applications.
