ARAYATHE VISUAL INSPECTION AI EQUIPMENT SET IS NOW AVAILABLE.
Araya(located in Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Ryota Kanai, hereinafter Araya), which develops artificial intelligence (AI) technology and provides solutions, has started offering a set of AI software and hardware for visual inspection that can detect abnormalities as small as 0.1 mm, which have been difficult to detect using conventional inspection machines and AI.
This product is based on the InspectAI software package for visual inspection, available from Araya, and utilises imaging equipment such as cameras and lighting manufactured by Keyence Corporation, with system construction carried out by Meister Engineering Co.

THIS SET OF APPEARANCE INSPECTION AI DEVICES CAN BE USED FOR PRODUCTS IN A WIDE RANGE OF INDUSTRIES. IN PARTICULAR, THE DETECTION OF CONTAMINANTS SUCH AS HAIR AND VINYL, WHICH IS A SERIOUS ISSUE IN FOOD PRODUCTION, IS DIFFICULT TO HANDLE WITH CONVENTIONAL INSPECTION EQUIPMENT, SO THE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO BRING SIGNIFICANT BENEFITS IN TERMS OF IMPROVED PRODUCT QUALITY AND LABOUR SAVINGS.

THE SYSTEM HAS ACHIEVED FASTER PROCESSING OF IMAGE DATA CAPTURED BY THE CAMERA. FOR EXAMPLE, WITH RELATIVELY LARGE IMAGES OF 5 MEGAPIXELS, IT USED TO TAKE NEARLY ONE SECOND TO INSPECT THEM USING AI, BUT THIS HAS BEEN REDUCED TO APPROXIMATELY 0.5 SECONDS. THIS ENABLES THE SYSTEM TO RESPOND TO THE SHORT TACT TIME REQUIRED AT MANUFACTURING SITES.
■ COMPATIBLE WITH KEYENCE VJ SERIES CAMERAS. FASTER AND EASIER TO USE.
Now compatible with the VJ camera series from Keyence, the VJ camera can be operated and configured directly from InspectAI. This improves user-friendliness by making it possible to set up each time in one software application, and also enables faster processing than using the VJ series applications.
